Home page redesign: options for review

Eleven standalone mock-ups of the signed-in home, all with the same sample data (coordinator view, September 2026), ranked from the one we would pick first to the one we would pick last. The last page is new: one home built from the best parts of the other ten, kept after them because looks count as much as features. Every page is static HTML: open one, scroll it, use the arrows at the bottom to move through the ranking. Nothing here is wired to the real intranet: a direction is implemented only after it is confirmed.

Ranked: first choice to last

Pancoworld light

White sticky header, pill buttons, eyebrow labels and 8px line cards. The extranet's own tokens (navy, ink, blue, yellow, soft wash) on today's modules, nothing added and nothing removed.

The cleanest answer to the brief: it reads as pancoworld.com at first glance and every control sits where members expect it.

02go-live brief

Current home, pancoworld.com style

Built from the prompt "change the current design to one that looks more similar to www.pancoworld.com, without changing any functionality": same modules, buttons and links, sidebar in today's order; the extranet's white header with the colour logo, pill buttons, 8px cards and heavy headings.

Same brief, same safety; a little plainer than 01 in the header and the cards, which is also why it would be the quickest to build.

Editorial hero

A photo band with the site's hero typography, a navy sidebar rail and numbered cards. Same controls as today, presented like the extranet's front page.

Strong and on-brand; the hero band replaces the event banner well. The numbered cards are decoration, and the band costs one screen of height.

Community board

A soft gradient wash, a big greeting with an outlined word, and the news as the site's story grid. Same modules, buttons and links as today, plus a three-figure strip under the greeting.

Warm and very readable. The greeting and the figure strip are small additions to the brief, so it needs a word from the network office before it could be the go-live look.

05go-live brief

Current home, Kinetic Light

The same brief in the language of the Kinetic Light direction for pancoworld.com: white paper, ink-outlined cards, Archivo display caps with an outlined word, hairline eyebrows, navy and gold pills with letter-spaced labels.

Distinctive and consistent, but it follows the extranet's secondary look rather than its home page, so it only makes sense if pancoworld.com moves that way too.

06variant

Baseline plus a morning strip

Nothing a member knows moves: today's home with a greeting, four live counters and the four things a coordinator does most on top. The lowest-risk change that still answers "what needs me today?".

The first step after go-live: one strip added, everything else in place.

07canvas 2adesign canvas

Command Deck

Same modules, same sidebar; adds a greeting, search, four quick actions, a KPI strip and a pinned announcement. The safest evolution on the original canvas.

Good bones, but search and quick actions are features the intranet does not have yet; a post-launch conversation.

08variant

Panco Workspace

The current intranet's chrome carrying the ideas from the Pangea intranet review: RouteBack credit and shipment balance, the day's counters as bold tiles, "Needs your attention", top routing partners, upcoming FreightCamp events with days-to-go, and news as image cards.

The richest page and the best place to see what the data could show; too much new at once for a launch.

09variant

Focus, on the map

A command band over the network's dot map; the task list built only on signals the intranet really has: overdue and due invoices, protection status, holidays that hit departures.

The map band is handsome but pushes the calendar and the monitor below the fold; the attention list is the part worth keeping.

10canvas 4adesign canvas

Atlas

No sidebar, a top nav, and a live world map of the network as the home. The boldest option on the original canvas and a real navigation change.

Worth a look for the map as a hero, but dropping the sidebar changes how every other page is reached; not a home-page decision on its own.

11combined

Best of ten

One home built from the other ten. The look is 01's: white sticky header, white sidebar with the navy active pill, 8px line cards, pill buttons, its payment monitor, calendar and news column. On top of it, only the ideas that use data the intranet already has: 06's morning greeting with live counters, 07's quick actions, 09's dot-map band and "Needs your attention" list, 03's navy invite card, 04's online members with names.

Shown last on purpose: it has the most useful content, but 01 is the better-looking page and the safer go-live choice. This one is the brief for what to build after launch, not the artboard to copy. Left out: RouteBack and routing partners (no data yet), the full-height photo hero and the top navigation without a sidebar.

How to read these

Every page keeps the modules the home has today: holiday calendar, payment protection, invite your team, online members, event banner, payment monitor, app and logo downloads, latest news, the same header links and the same footer. Numbers are the ranking; a grey "canvas" note is the id the same design carries on its original design canvas. The yellow line under each description says why it sits where it does. Pages fill the window and need at least 1180px; the real build would be responsive.
